PLANNING

CLEAR AND FAIR

Unlike most consulting agencies, I don't do this to make money. I do this because it makes me happy. Seeing the face of a veteran visibly relax when we work together gives me purpose.

It's my honor to serve you.

Sarah DeLacey, NP

Sarah is a Nurse Practitioner licensed in the State of Nevada. She and her team at Reno Family Medical Group and conducted nearly 10,000 C&P Veteran Exams.

  • Sarah meets with the Veteran (and their family, if desired) via Zoom to discuss goals, agree on a timeline, and make a list of needed/helpful documentation.

    Week 1

  • Sarah presents a Claim Submission Action Plan based on the information gathered. This plan is clear, realistic, and founded in experiential knowledge of the C&P DBQ* process.

    *Compensation and Pension
    Disability Benefits Questionnaires

    Week 2

  • Based on the proposed action plan, the Veteran will prepare a "Statement in Support of Claim", and Sarah will prepare a "Nexus Letter of Support."

    Week 4

  • The veteran submits their new/adjusted claims with the supporting documentation.

Sarah is available for championing and moral support! Veterans can share their screen on Zoom during this process.

    Week 4-5

  • The veteran attends their associated physical exams scheduled through the VA.

Having conducted approx. 5,000 of these exams herself, Sarah can help the Veteran know what to expect and how to feel prepared.

    Weeks 8 - 20

  • The veteran receives their rating decision.

Sarah meets with the veteran to discuss if goals were met and to discuss next steps. Often, Action Plans will include 2 - 3 phases of Claim Submission starting with the easiest claims to support and progressing toward harder claims.

PRICING

An explanation of my fee philosphy

Consulting agencies typically charge in one of two ways: upfront fees and/or a percentage of any awarded benefits.

That model has never sat right with me. Our veterans have already sacrificed their bodies, their physical and mental health, and often their long‑term wellbeing in service to this country. The idea that anyone should profit from that sacrifice feels fundamentally wrong. Upfront fees also create a barrier that prevents many veterans from seeking the support they deserve.

At the same time, reviewing records, developing action plans, and providing Nexus Letters as a medical provider requires significant time, expertise, and care.

For these reasons, I’ve created a model based on Fees & Gratitude. I’ve developed a fee schedule that reflects the time and effort involved, and these fees will be billed upfront. However, no veteran will ever be turned away due to inability to pay. A “pay‑what‑you‑can” option will be available at checkout.

In addition, I will offer Gratitude links for veterans who wish to make a donation after they receive their benefits. This allows those who feel well‑represented to contribute in a way that supports others who cannot pay upfront.

I believe this approach is the fairest and most values‑aligned way to offer these services. My hope is that a community of veterans supporting one another will emerge—those who are able can help offset the cost for those who are not.
